The Progress of Love is a collaborative project between the Menil Collection, Houston; the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos; and The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, St. Louis. Developed through a unique cross-continental conversation and linked by a shared website and publication, this endeavor presents overlapping exhibitions and events at three institutions that explore our conceptions and experiences of love – as an ideal, as a lived experience, and as something lost.
The Progress of Love at the Menil Collection (on view through March 17, 2013) reveals how

love—sexual, familial, friendly, communal—as derived both from traditional culture and
Western influences. Read More.
